Low confidence during presentations

Possible CAUSES

  1. Low self-esteem, introvert, stage fright

  2. Other people present much better, setting the standard too high

As a RESULT

> Feel stressed when you pale in comparison with your friends in terms of presentation skills

> Unable to put in your best effort during the presentation

> Afraid that others would criticize you due to your presentation

the Negative Emotion

Disappointed when people criticize your presentation

Disappointed when your teacher gives you low oral participation points

What you CAN DO

1) Practise your oral presentation skills at home before the actual presentation.

Practice your presentation in front of a mirror and improve on your eye contact and gestures.

Always be prepared for presentation so that you will not stutter or read from the script during the actual presentation.

2) Learn what others say about your presentation and improve on that.

You can practice your presentation in front of your family and ask for their comments.

Based on that, improve on your presentation skills.

3) Do not take the criticism your friends give into heart and dwell on it.

Treat the criticism your friends give as a motivation to work harder to improve on your presentation skills.

8. Speech Confidence
